Sanitation plays a very important role in human life sustenance. It not only helps one to lead a healthy and hygienic life but also creates a hygienic environment. Through this project constructed Toilets, Hand Wash Stations & Drinking Water stations in 11 Schools of Uluberia town in Howrah District of West Bengal and 8 schools in Faridabad of Haryana. In total its covered 15,797 school students get access to child, gender & disabled friendly WASH facilities in schools. It promotes improved hygiene behaviour amongst school students and other stakeholders such as teachers, Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Workers, school support staff etc. and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) among adolescent girls’ students. As a sustainable part this infrastructure was maintained managed by the school management and the students’ committees.
In the State of Tamil Nadu under this WASH initiative retrofitting work was done in 4 Government schools which its helps to improve the WASH infrastructure in these schools, at Athoor block, Dindigul district. Through this program 10100 students from 82 schools benefited in improve Knowledge, Attitude and Practices among the students and teachers on various aspects of WASH including Menstrual Hygiene Management through Behaviour Change Communication while generating good practices on local innovations for WASH friendly schools.
The project is created impact as indicates bellow and we are continuing this path for the betterment of students and community in WASH.
